Wangari Maathai on Peace and Environmental Justice (Rebroadcast)

wangarimaathaiAs the year draws to a close, Sea Change Radio digs into its archives to rebroadcast a standout episode from 2009: an in-person interview with Nobel Laureate Wangari Maathai.  Sea Change Co-Hosts Bill Baue and Francesca Rheannon speak with Maathai about the links between environmental justice, women’s empowerment, democratic governance, and sustainability in the intimate setting of the Marlboro College Graduate School, where Baue teaches in the Sustainability MBA program.  Maathai was touring the US promoting her new book, The Challenge for Africa, as well as the documentary, Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai.  In the second half of the show, Rheannon and Baue speak with the filmmakers, Alan Dater and Lisa Merton of Marlboro Productions.
