We all grew up hearing that you are what you eat, but the evolution of our planet’s food distribution system has managed to create tremendous distances between our food sources and our dining tables. This week’s guests on Sea Change Radio are both promoting eating local and close to the source and helping us wade through the ocean of food choices that confront us all on a daily basis. First, host Alex Wise speaks with co-founder of Citizen Film, Sophie Constantinou, whose online film project Lunch Love Community features a school district that has had a small revolution in its approach to meals, and now serves healthier foods grown in school-run gardens and farms. After that we hear from Clean Food evangelist Terry Walters, whose cookbooks tell readers how to eat seasonally, locally, and sustainably without punishing their inner gourmand.
